Teacher's Guide: Math Midway

Math Midway is a carnival shooting gallery where students shoot the target showing the correct answer to arithmetic problems. Four rooms cover addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division — each a 60-second timed round with moving targets. It's designed for building fact fluency through engaging, fast-paced repetition.

Can I assign just one operation?

Yes. The title screen lets students choose which room to play (addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division). Tell students which room to select and they'll practice that operation for the full 60 seconds.

How long does a full game take?

Each room is 60 seconds. Playing all four rooms takes about 5–6 minutes including brief transitions. One room takes under 2 minutes — ideal for a quick warm-up.

What difficulty level is multiplication?

Multiplication problems go up to 12 × 12, aligned with Grade 3–5 expectations. Problems are randomly generated each session so students get varied practice every time they play.
