Frequently Asked Questions
Does the math change? No — only the words and story change. Numbers, equations, and answer values are always identical to the original.
What subjects does it work for? Homework Remixer is designed specifically for math word problems. It will not reliably remix other subjects.
Does it require an internet connection? Yes — remixing is powered by AI in the cloud, so an active connection is required.
Are my credits tied to one device? Without an account, your free monthly remixes are tracked on-device. Sign in with a free account to access your 15 monthly remixes and subscription credits across devices.
Privacy Policy

NerdCroft ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Homework Remixer mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use the App:
- Email address. If you contact us for support or sign up for updates, we collect your email address to respond to you and, if you opt in, to send occasional product news. You may opt out at any time by replying to any email or contacting us directly.
- Homework photos. When you remix a worksheet, the photo you upload is transmitted to our AI processing service (Anthropic Claude) to extract and rewrite word problems. Photos are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers beyond the immediate request.
- Usage & analytics data. We collect usage data (feature interactions, session length, crash reports) via RevenueCat to understand how the App is used and to improve it. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers and purchase history to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.
- Advertising data. The App may display ads served by third-party advertising networks. These networks may collect device identifiers (such as IDFA on iOS) and usage data to serve relevant advertisements. You can limit ad tracking in your device's privacy settings.
- Purchase data. In-app purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive purchase receipts and entitlement status — never your payment details.
How We Use Your Information
- To process your homework photos using AI and return remixed word problems.
- To manage your credit balance and in-app purchase entitlements via RevenueCat.
- To respond to support requests sent to your email address.
- To send product updates or announcements, only if you have opted in.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the App.
- To serve advertisements through third-party ad networks.
Data Retention
Homework photos are transmitted to Anthropic's API solely to fulfill your remix request and are not stored by NerdCroft after the response is returned. Anthropic's data retention is governed by their own privacy policy.
Email addresses collected for support are retained until you request deletion. RevenueCat retains purchase and analytics data per their own data retention policy. Ad network data is retained per each network's policy.
Advertising
The App may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks. These networks may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver ads that are relevant to your interests based on your activity across apps and websites. To opt out of interest-based advertising on iOS, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track." You may still see ads after opting out, but they will not be personalized.
Children's Privacy
Homework Remixer is designed for use by families and students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Account creation is optional — a free account unlocks a higher monthly remix limit. Homework photos are not retained after processing. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the App without consent, please contact us at nerdcroft@gmail.com and we will take prompt action.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Anthropic Claude API — processes homework photos and text to generate theme-remixed word problems. Anthropic does not train on API inputs by default. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — manages in-app purchases, subscriptions, and usage analytics. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers and purchase history. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple StoreKit — handles payment processing for in-app purchases. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Third-party ad networks — may serve advertisements within the App and collect device identifiers for ad targeting, subject to your device-level tracking preferences.
Data Security
All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We do not store homework photos or payment details on our servers. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we do hold.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of any personal data we hold (such as your email address) by contacting us at nerdcroft@gmail.com. We will respond within 5 business days. For data held by RevenueCat or third-party ad networks, please contact those services directly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
